The Story of Sabbath House

When David and Diann Churchill moved with their young family and flock of chickens to Spring Valley Farm in 2008, their very full life suddenly became "fuller." They were constantly on the move in those days as they raised their brood and embraced farm life.

It was in the midst of so much activity that they began to value the (rare) moments of quiet and the beauty surrounding them. The Lord planted a seed that became deeply rooted in their hearts. Friends would ask what they planned to do when all the kids grew up and flew the coop and Diann would reply that she planned to invite friends to come to the farm for rest and renewal. She imagined guests reading on the porch, taking a stroll around the farm, and soaking up some serenity by the pond.

Many years later, just as their youngest was about to graduate from high school, they were able to purchase the original farmhouse, updated and expanded over the years, and that dream began to take shape. Sabbath House offers a safe and sacred space for people to encounter God through spiritual discovery and renewal.

Who We Are

Diann Churchill

Director and Founder

Diann Churchill, along with her husband, David, founded Sabbath House in late 2020. A lifelong follower of Jesus, Diann has been greatly influenced by her early retreat experiences with her church youth group, and later through various retreats. She connects with God through prayer and in recent years discovered contemplative practices that facilitate listening as well as speaking. Her spiritual formation experiences led her to seek spiritual direction and eventually to pursue her certification as spiritual director. She also loves reading, studying and discussing Scripture, particularly in community with fellow believers.

Diann handles the daily operations of Sabbath House and is available to meet with those interested in learning more about Sabbath House and what we offer. She firmly believes that descriptions and photos do not fully translate so encourages you to come visit! Diann is a certified spiritual director and is available to offer individual and group spiritual direction.

Kelly Willie is a vocational pastor who has led thousands of people into God’s presence through worship, pastoral care, creative retreat experiences and devotional writing for over thirty years. She has also been a part of the Sabbath House Team since its inception and has helped to shape its vision. Kelly is passionate about introducing people to the deep love of Jesus and guiding them to experience His presence in meaningful, transformative ways. She loves to create space and environments where the soul can find rest and breathe, preparing hearts for Divine encounters with our Triune God!

Kelly is available to serve INDIVIDUALS, providing one-on-one pastoral care and spiritual guidance; GROUPS as a retreat facilitator, retreat planning consultant, and worship leader; and in COMMUNITY through community events for Sabbath House.
